China new media reported on October 8, Japan meteorological agency announced that the 25th typhoon "Connie" has been transformed into a temperate depression in the early morning hours of the 7th, is currently traveling east near Hokkaido, wind is still strong. Fierce winds are blowing in the northeast of Japan and along the coast of Hokkaido.

In the 24 hours to noon on Thursday, intermittent heavy rain was reported on Hokkaido, with the heaviest rainfall reaching about 100 millimetres. Thunderstorms of up to 30mm per hour are expected to hit parts of Hokkaido in the coming hours.

The storm is expected to blow over Hokkaido for several hours, with maximum winds of 23 meters per second and maximum instantaneous winds of 35 meters per second, the report said.

The sea waves will continue Sunday, with a height of 7 meters on the sea of Japan in the northeast, 6 meters in the sea near the northern land and 5 meters in the sea near Hokkaido.

Japan's meteorological agency called on people to take precautions against storms and large waves, and to be on high alert for geological disasters, river surges, flooding in low-lying areas, storm surges, lightning strikes and tornadoes.
