Dear friends,

I am writing this email to introduce you to one of China's most famous celebrities: Confucius.

Confucius was a great thinker, a great educator, a founder of the Confucian school, and an ancient saint in the Spring and Autumn Period. His speech and life activities are recorded in the book The Analects compiled by his disciples or re-disciplined disciples. The Analects of Confucius is a classic work of ancient Chinese culture. In the Chinese history of more than two thousand years after Confucius, no thinker, writer, or politician was affected by the book The Analects. Without studying the Analects, we cannot truly grasp the traditional culture of China for thousands of years, nor can we deeply understand the inner state of mind of the ancient Chinese.


In Confucius's doctrines about "days" and "people", there are many ideas that reflect the universal value of human beings. This is the reason why Confucius's doctrine was not only valued by the Chinese but also valued by the entire international community in the 21st century.

　　在孔子關于“天”、“人”的學說中，有很多思想體現(xiàn)了人類的普遍價值。這就是在21世紀的今天，孔子的學說不僅受到中國人的重視，而且受到整個國際社會重視的原因。

All in all, I found that your course information is informative and encouraging. In fact, I really like the way you use simple drawings to clarify complex problems. This makes your course both interesting and impressive. However, since I often don't have time to write down all the points, I do feel that you can give us more printed handouts. Since I found that class discussion is the best way to clarify and deepen my understanding of the course content, I would like to have more class discussions.
