December 20, 2019 is the 20th anniversary of the return of Macau to the motherland and the 20th anniversary of the implementation of the Basic Law of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China.

2019年12月3日，為慶祝澳門回歸祖國20周年，全國人大常委會辦公廳在北京人民大會堂舉行紀念中華人民共和國澳門特別行政區(qū)基本法實施20周年座談會   。12月6日上午10點，中國人民解放軍進駐澳門20周年慶祝大會，在駐澳門部隊凼仔軍營禮堂舉行 。

On December 3, 2019, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the return of Macau to the motherland, the General Office of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress held a symposium to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the implementation of the Basic Law of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China. At 10 am on December 6, the 20th Anniversary Celebration of the Chinese People's Liberation Army in Macau was held in the Auditorium of the Taipa Barracks of the Macao Army.

2019年12月18日至20日，中共中央總書記、國家主席、中央軍委主席習近平赴澳門，出席慶祝澳門回歸祖國20周年大會暨澳門特別行政區(qū)第五屆政府就職典禮，并視察澳門特別行政區(qū)。

From December 18 to 20, 2019, Xi Jinping, the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the President of the CPC and the Chairman of the Central Military Commission, went to Macau to attend the 20th Anniversary of Macau's Return to the Motherland and the Fifth Government Inauguration Ceremony of the Macau Special Administrative Region and inspected the Macau Special Administrative Region.
