In his book,Bill Gates talks about how feel-good,politically correct teachings have created a generration of kids with no concept of reality and how this sets them up for failure.Here is a list of things Gates says our kids are not learning in school.
 
 

第一條：生活并不公平，去適應(yīng)它。
 
Rual 1:Life is not fair,get used to it.
 
 

第二條：這個(gè)世界不會(huì)顧及你的自尊，卻希望你在自我感覺良好前有所成就。
 
The world doesn＇t care about your self-esteem.The world expects you to accomplish something before you feel good about yourself.
 
 

第三條：剛走出高中校門，你不可能一年掙到4萬美元。你不會(huì)成為配有轎車的副總裁，直到你掙到兩者為止。
 
You will not make﹩40,000 a year right out of high school.You won＇t be a vice president with a car phone until you earn both.
 
 

第四條：如果你認(rèn)為你的老師太苛刻，當(dāng)你有了老板你等著瞧吧！因?yàn)樗菬o限期任職的。
 
If you think your teacher is tough,wait until you get a boss.He doesn＇t have tenure.
 
 

第五條：烙漢堡包不會(huì)有損你的尊嚴(yán)。你的祖父母對(duì)烙漢堡包有不同的描述；他們叫它為“機(jī)遇”。
 
Flipping burgers are not beneath your dignity.Your grandparents had a different word for burger flipping;they called it” oppourunity.”
 
 

第六條：如果你身處困境，你的父母并沒有過錯(cuò)，所以不要對(duì)自己的過錯(cuò)發(fā)牢騷，要沖中吸取教訓(xùn)。
 
If you mess up,it＇s not your parents fault,so don＇t whine about your mistakes,learn from them.
 
 

第七條：你還沒出生時(shí)，你的父母并不像現(xiàn)在這樣令人厭煩。他們是在支付你的賬單，洗刷你的衣服，傾聽你說自己有多殘酷的過程中，才變成這樣。所以，在從你父母那一輩子的寄生蟲中拯救雨林之前，試著把你自己的房間壁櫥里的“虱子”驅(qū)除了吧！
 
Before you were born,your parents weren＇t as boring as they are now.They got that way from paying your bills,cleaning your clothes,and listening to you talk about how cool you are.So before you have save the rainforest from the parasites of your parents＇generation,try “delousing” the closet in your own room.
 
 

第八條：你的學(xué)?；蛟S已經(jīng)沒有勝者和敗者之分，但生活中還有。有些學(xué)校已廢止了“不及格”制度，他們盡可能多地給你尋找正確答案的機(jī)會(huì)。但在現(xiàn)實(shí)生活中，卻絲毫沒有與之相似之處。
 
our school may have done away with winners and losers,but life is not..In some schools they have abolished failing grades they give you as many chances as you need to get the right answer.This doesn＇t bear the slightest resemblance to anything in real life.
 
 

第九條：生活不分學(xué)期。你沒有暑假可以休息，并且很少有老板有興趣幫助你發(fā)現(xiàn)自我，在屬于自己的時(shí)間里去發(fā)下自己吧！
 
Life is not divided into asemesters.You do not get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you find yourself.Do that on your own time.
 
 

第十條：電視不是真實(shí)生活。事實(shí)上，在現(xiàn)實(shí)生活中，人們不得不離開咖啡館回到工作中去。
 
Television is not real life.In rear life people actually have have to leave the coffee shop and go get jobs.
 
 

第十一條：友善的對(duì)待卑微之人。因?yàn)榭赡芘銮赡銜?huì)為他工作。
 
Be nice to nerd;chances are good you＇ ll end up working for one someday.
