1999年，由于長征二號丙改進(jìn)型火箭連續(xù)7次成功發(fā)射銥星及其模擬星，加上此前長征二號丙系列火箭連續(xù)14次發(fā)射成功，原航天工業(yè)總公司授予長征二號丙改火箭“金牌火箭”的光榮稱號。
